Donation Based Functional Vinyasa

  • Tuesday April 28th 2020 12:00 – 1:00pm

This class will be focused on back bending. 
Functional vinyasa is the practice you know and love approached from a new perspective where we focus less on how a pose should look and more on how it should feel. Once you try it you’ll fall in love!
Location: Virtual (link to class will be sent upon registration)
What you will need: Two yoga blocks (or large books), a strap (or neck tie) and a yoga mat.
Payment: In an effort to acknowledge that in the midst of the COVID19 crisis, we are all in different places financially, this workshop is being offered on a by donation basis. If you are currently in a place where it does not make financial sense to invest in a workshop, I invite you to enjoy this offering for a small donation or absolutely free. However, if you are financially able to offer payment, I ask that you please consider doing so. The recommended donation is $20, but again you can pay more or less according to what works best for you.

Description of classes:

Level 1/2 Vinyasa

Not necessarily for new students, basics offer students of all levels the opportunity to return to the foundations of yoga in an energizing and non-competitive environment.  These classes emphasize appropriate alignment designed to give you a sound infrastructure in order to strengthen your practice. Pose modifications are offered to keep your body safe and healthy. Demonstrations are given to heighten understanding of alignment principles. Pranayama (yogic breathing) techniques and meditation are introduced to enhance the state of well being of your mind. This class is perfect for new students, for yogis returning to their mat after a break, or for ongoing practitioners interested in reviewing pose fundamentals.

Level 2 / Power Flow Vinyasa

This class is appropriate for any level of practitioner, from basic to advanced. Precise and powerful alignment instructions are combined with flowing vinyasa to offer the greatest opportunity for a balanced practice of strength and fluid expansion. Modifications and variations are always presented to allow each student to move in harmony with their body’s needs and desires. These classes include demonstration, partner poses on occasion, pranayama and a bit of chanting. Come with a light heart and the willingness to be challenged.
